This chart expands on the retail sales chart element dealing with motor vehicle sales.
The data is available about six weeks after the end of each month, when it is published by Statistics NZ. This series captures all sales at the retail level, new and used. It records the dollar value of those sales.
(It is different from our "New vehicle sales" series - that one records units sold of vehicles "first registered in NZ".)
