Mortgage serviceability test rates are what banks use to assess a borrowers ability to service the loan they have applied for.
They change as market conditions change. Most often, they are adjusted when the RBNZ afters its OCR, but there are many other reasons for a bank to change its test rates.
And test rates are not the only criteria banks use when assessing their credit risk. But they are somewhat visible and we will track them here for reader's easy reference.
