ASB has appointed Roger Beaumont, the former marketing and communications director of TV3 owner MediaWorks, as its executive general manager for marketing and online.
Beaumont will start work on October 3 in a role that sees him take a place on ASB's executive leadership team. ASB CEO Barbara Chapman said Beaumont will assume leadership of the bank's brand & marketing, public relations & external relations and internet banking teams.
His appointment comes after the recent departure of Deborah Simpson, ASB's general manager of marketing, who oversaw the introduction of the bank's Creating Futures marketing campaign and the dumping of the Ira Goldstein advertising campaign that ran for 11 years.
Chapman said, however, that Beaumont was taking on a newly-created role where he'll oversee ASB's brand and reputation as it competes in the evolving digital environment.
“We are very fortunate to have an executive of Roger's calibre and experience joining us to head up this new division,” Chapman said.
Beaumont has some history with ASB having been senior account director when working for ASB's external PR company between 1996 and 1999.
