WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 has gained +0.2% today, up +1.8% over the last five days. From this time last year, the index has grown +1.9%.

THE MAIN GAINERS
There are 36 companies in the green to finish off the trading week. Gentrack (GTK, #25) leads the pack, gaining +10%. Over the last five days, GTK has grown +6%, up +6% over the last six months. The company has gained a solid +28% year-on-year. Contact Energy (CEN, #7) is up +4%, gaining +6% in the last five days. Year-on-year, it has gained +4%. a2 Milk (ATM, #8) gains +3%, up +32% year-on-year. The Warehouse Group (WHS, #49) is up +2% but remains down -42% over the year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
The equity market has 39 companies at a decline. Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #50) falls -3% today. Over the last five days, it has dropped -3%, down -36% year-on-year. Vulcan Steel (VSL, #26) also declines -3% today, down -5% year-on-year. Heartland Group Holdings (HGH, #34) has fallen -3%, losing -9% in the last month. Year-on-year, it has dropped a sharp -40%. KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Hallenstein Glasson Holdings reported $240m in half-year sales, up from $223m, with NPAT rising +0.3% to $21.2m. Glassons Australia led growth, while Hallensteins faced margin pressure. E-commerce sales rose to 17.7% of total revenue. An interim dividend of 24.5 cps will be paid on 17 April 2025. Sales for the first seven weeks of the second half are up +5.4%, though margin pressures remain.

Sky has secured exclusive New Zealand broadcast rights for Six Nations and Gallagher Premiership Rugby for the next eight years. The Six Nations partnership begins in 2026, following Sky’s existing rights for 2025, covering the Men’s, Women’s, and U20s Championships. Coverage of the Gallagher Premiership, England’s top club competition, will start in September 2025.
