Craig Herbison, BNZ's director of retail and marketing is leaving the bank.
Herbison joined BNZ in late 2011, leaving a role as general manager of brand and marketing communications at Telstra's directories business in Melbourne, to join the bank. During his time as head of retail at BNZ the bank has started working with mortgage brokers again after a 12-year break.
"When Craig arrived five years ago, he helped us redefine our entire brand proposition and marketing strategy to ‘be good with money’, which will stay with the bank for a long time," BNZ CEO Anthony Healy said.
“In the last two years, Craig led our retail business as well as marketing. This period saw the creation of our broker hub which wrote $1.1 billion in lending in its first 12 months, along with the establishment of our small business hubs in Hamilton and Christchurch."
"Craig has now decided the time is right for him to move on and look for new challenges," Healy added.
Healy said a replacement for Herbison will be announced "in due course," after a "rigorous" search process. In the meantime Herbison's shoes will be filled by BNZ’s director of products and technology, David Bullock.
