BNZ has struck a deal to provide motorcycle finance through Blue Wing Honda's network of 52 dealers, and hopes to start offering vehicle finance to retail customers through its own branches next year.
Anthony Healy, BNZ's director of partners, told interest.co.nz the new partnership with Blue Wing Honda was the bank's first of this type with a vehicle distributor. It would be a "natural extension" for BNZ to look at similar deals with other vehicle brands.
He also said BNZ had spent "millions of dollars" developing "an asset finance platform for the digital age" over the past two years.
