Dan Brunskill has joined interest.co.nz to take up the role of parliamentary reporter.
Brunskill will be based in the Press Gallery at Parliament in Wellington, from where he'll be covering key economic and political developments, party policies, and this year's election.
He previously worked at BusinessDesk covering New Zealand’s capital markets throughout the turbulent pandemic period. In 2021, Brunskill won the New Zealand Shareholders' Association’s Rising Business Journalist Award for his work covering the Gamestop short squeeze, and was also nominated for Feature of the Year.
Brunskill studied journalism at AUT University and had his first bylines in the NZ Herald in 2019, where writing stories about competition in the retail fuel market piqued a long-term interest in economics.
He also has experience working as a commercial photographer.

Welcome Dan, there is a politically aware readership here so you have the real pulse of what matters to the voters. Getting answers from politicians would be great.
My top 2 would be what population policy do they have, and what plan do they have for turning around our woeful current account deficit.
