Things were a bit mixed at the latest Auckland apartment auction, conducted by City Sales on Wednesday.
Four of the eight Auckland apartments put up for auction were sold under the hammer, with the remaining four passed in for sale by negotiation.
Prices of the apartments that sold ranged from $155,000 for a 29 square metre studio leased to the Quest Hotel in Parnell, to $595,500 for an 80 square metre unit with three bedrooms and two bathrooms in the Alpha building on Vogel Lane.
Sales were also achieved on apartments in the popular Zest and Eclipse buildings.
Of the four that didn't sell, there were multiple bidders for units in the Harvard building on Hobson St and the Spencer on Byron building at Takapuna but they weren't high enough to get across the line. The only bid made for a unit in the Karekare complex in New Lynn was made by the auctioneer on behalf of the vendor. And a unit in the Westmount building on Upper Queen St, which is in the throes of weathertightness remediation work, was passed in without receiving any bids.
