Harcourts has released the results of 136 properties marketed for sale by auction last week and of the 48 homes that were sold in Auckland, none sold for less than $500,000 and only five sold for less than $700,000.
There were plenty that sold for more than $1 million though and the most expensive sale of the week was a house in Takapuna that went for $2.66 million (see full results below).
The cheapest Auckland auction was a house in Henderson Heights that sold for $500,000 (pictured).
Around the rest of the country the cheapest auction sale in Hamilton was a house in Hillcrest that sold for $387,500 while in Tauranga prices started at $362,500 for a four bedroom house at Welcome Bay.
In Taupo $320,000 bought a three bedroom house at Rainbow Point and in Napier there were a couple of houses that sold for under $200,000.
In Wellington you could have picked up a two bedroom house in Newtown for $425,000, and in Christchurch the auction prices of homes ranged from $318,000 for house in Syndenham to $1.5 million for a house in Fendalton.
The cheapest house sold at auction by Harcourts last week was a 110 square metre, 1945-era, three bedroom, weatherboard house with separate lock up garage in Pahiatua, which sold at mortgagee auction for $47,000.
