A couple of 1950s weatherboard and brick rental units in Epsom sold for $2.2 million, a Green Bay property with two houses on it sold for $808,000, a villa in Avondale went for $835,000 and another at Northcote made $1.485 million at this week's Bayleys Auckland residential auctions.
Of the 10 properties put to auction eight were sold and two were passed in for sale by negotiation, so there was no shortage of buyers.
The Epsom units were standard rental fare, each with two bedrooms and still with many of their original features, they were tidy but not flash.
But they were sitting on a 981 square metre section in the poshest part of Epsom at 1 Withiel Drive, which runs between Gillies Ave and Mountain Rd.
So the units are unlikely to be long for this world as the developers circle.
