A 1940s-era, brick and tile do up in Royal Oak that sold for $961,000 was one of the highlights from the Auckland residential property auctions held by Bayleys this week.
The house has had the same owner for 35 years so was in need of a makeover, but whether it gets it or not is another matter.
It sits on an 1,158 square metre section which had the developers sniffing around, so chances are the property will be redeveloped.
Other highlights from the auction rooms this week included a 1940s two bedroom, roughcast duplex at Narrow Neck on the North Shore that sold for $778,000, a five bedroom home in New Lynn that went for $816,000 and a Sandringham bungalow that fetched $1.14 million.
