Australian regulators have moved to wind up the company bankrupted Blue Chip founder Mark Bryers works for in Australia.
Bryers now lives and works in Sydney and court documents relating to an application he made to the High Court in this country to be released from bankruptcy state that he is working for Forsite Marketing Pty Ltd.
Bryers is due to return to this country in November to face a public examination of his affairs in the High Court, as part of his bid to be removed from bankruptcy, a move that is opposed by the Official Assignee.
He applied to the court to be able to give evidence via video link rather than attend in person, but the request was denied by the court.
In its decision on the application, the court noted that Bryers had said the estimated $24,000 cost of using a video link could be met his employer, Forsite Marketing.
However Forsite's official company extract shows that the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) commenced moves in June to deregister the company.
ASIC's public notice said it was proposing to deregister the company under provisions of the Corporations Act which allow it to take such a move if a company has not filed statutory returns within a specified period of time or has not paid certain statutory fees, or if ASIC believes the company is no longer in business.
Bryers was bankrupted in 2009 and remains a bankrupt because the Official Assignee refused to automatically discharge him after the usual three year term.
He also received criminal convictions on charges that he failed to keep adequate records or attend creditors meetings of companies he ran that encountered financial difficulties.
