NZX has had immense growth over time, as the economy of New Zealand has grown. NZX operates New Zealand’s equity, funds, derivatives energy, and carbon markets. Provision of trading, clearing, settlements, depository, and data services to all of the NZX customers. NZX also manages the business Smartshares, and the advisory platform NZX Wealth Technologies.

McMahon has worked for several big companies including BZW, Morgan Stanley, ABN AMRO, and Walker Capital. Now shifting to manage his own investment portfolio. Mark Peterson joined NZX in May of 2015 and was appointed Chief Executive Office in April 2017. Peterson has a wealth of experience, with over 30 years of financial services provision where he covered capital markets, private wealth management, banking, and insurance. Prior to joining NZX Peterson was the Managing Principal of ANZ securities. Peterson graduated from Victoria University, Wellington, with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration majoring in Economics and Finance.
