"We manufacture building products; from insulation that keeps homes warm and dry, to cement, the foundation of built structures the world over. We operate retail businesses that distribute these products and many more to tradespeople right across the Tasman. We also build homes, buildings, and infrastructure that create communities, improve productivity, and contribute to the quality of life for people living and working in cities and regions across our markets.”

CEO profile
Andrew Reding was appointed Group Chief executive and Managing director in August, 2024. Reding is an experienced business leader holding key roles in the construction materials and building product sector for over 35 years, including 11 years at FBU. Whilst at FBU Reding was the executive of Building products and steel from 2001-2006 and was the managing director of Fletcher wood panels from 1997-2001. Reding was also President and CEO of Evergreen packaging Inc, a global business that has a US $1.7 billion revenue.

Chairman profile
Barbara Chapman has an extensive executive career including roles as CEO and Managing director for ASB Bank, Chair of Genesis Energy, and Chair of NZME (New Zealand Media and Entertainment). In 2019, Chapman was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for service to business. Chapman was first appointed a Director of FBU in September 2018, and last elected in the 2023 annual meeting.
