The Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) has hired Renée Roberts from its parent National Australia Bank (NAB) to replace the departing Martin Philipsen as its chief risk officer.
BNZ says Roberts, currently general manager of credit risk frameworks with NAB Group Credit Risk, joins the BNZ leadership team as chief risk officer on November 8.
"Ms Roberts is a finance professional with broad banking experience and a successful 20 year track record with the National Australia Bank in Australia and globally. Ms Roberts is currently General Manager, Credit Risk Frameworks with NAB Group Credit Risk," BNZ said.
"As previously announced, Mr Martin Philipsen will step down as Chief Risk Officer following a handover period with Ms Roberts. The appointment is subject to receipt of the necessary authorisation from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand."
BNZ announced in August that chief operating officer Stephen Mockett had departed and that Philipsen planned to.
