Westpac NZ has announced that National Australia Bank's GM of Development and New Business, George Frazis, has been appointed CEO of Westpac NZ. Frazis, 44, was previously NAB's GM of Business and Private Banking, after being a senior executive in CBA's Institutional banking division and a Boston Consulting Group partner. Acting Westpac CEO Bruce McLachlan would resume his position as General Manager, Consumer, in New Zealand, Westpac said. Frazis replaces Brad Cooper, who was appointed Westpac's Chief Transformation Officer in June 2008 with a special responsibility to lead Westpac's merger with St George. * This article was first published on Friday in our daily subscription newsletter for the banking and finance industries.
