Mega-trend 1: NZ dollar fell fast in 2008

In 2008 the NZ dollar recorded it fastest and biggest falls against most other currencies. It was NZ$1.00 = US$0.80 in March and fell to to US$0.52 by November. There were similar stunning falls against most other currencies, although not all. Bernard Hickey discusses this major event in this video, and reveals the implications for New Zealand.
