Demographia's annual survey of housing affordability that compares real estate markets across the world has found New Zealand has the second least affordable market in the world, just behind Australia. Demographia's survey of 265 markets found New Zealand's median multiple of median house prices to median household incomes at 5.7 times, which was better than Australia's 6.3, but worse than Britain's 5.3 times, Canada's 3.5 times and the United States on 3.2 times income. Here is the full survey.
