South Canterbury hikes 5-yr debenture rate to 8.5%

South Canterbury Finance announced it would raise its three, four and five year secured debenture and unsecured deposit rates by between 100 and 150 basis points. The new rates will become effective on March 25. South Canterbury's three year rates will go up 100 basis points to 8.00% (secured debenture) and 8.25% (unsecured deposit); its four year rates up 125 basis points to 8.25% and 8.50%; and its five year rates up 150 basis points to 8.50% and 8.75%.
