Chart watch: Long-term bond yields rising

The downward trend for yields of longer term government bonds appear to have well and truly ended, with a definite rise occuring over the past couple of months. After falling steeply from August 2008, returns on the secondary market for 10 year bonds have reached their highest point since the end of 2008. For five year bonds, they are at 12-week highs.
