Graham Hodges has been appointed acting Chief Executive Officer of ANZ's Australian division for an interim period following the exit of Brian Hartzer. Hodges had only just been appointed Deputy CEO of ANZ Australia and his new appointment will be effective immediately. Hartzer left ANZ to pursue his career in international banking, ANZ said in a statement. "I am pleased to have Graham leading our largest division in this interim period," ANZ CEO Mike Smith said. "He is one of ANZ's most experienced executives and most recently he has made a major contribution as Chief Executive Officer in New Zealand since 2006." Hodges is being replaced as ANZ National CEO by former National Bank executive Jenny Fagg. This means all four of the CEOs of New Zealand's four Australian owned banks will have been in their jobs for less than a year.
