- Add burglary to the three strikes regime, meaning someone convicted of a third burglary offence gets three years in prison.
- Reward prisoners who complete literacy programs and driver licensing tests with reduced sentences. Do the same for prisoners who volunteer to teach in these programs.
- Scrap red tape that stops ordinary New Zealanders from volunteering in prison education and rehabilitation programs.

- Establish a Crown Prosecution Service for New Zealand, This service shall be a government department which is responsible for deciding which charges to lay, as well as carrying out prosecutions.
- Investigate the recodification of criminal offenses currently spread across a number of Acts, into one Act, and in particular to assess whether the criminal code is becoming too complex in its categorisation of criminal activity.
- Repeal the “three strikes” sentencing law and apply the precautionary principle to new mandatory minimum sentencing legislation.
- Oppose any proposed laws which either reverse the onus of proof, or lower the standard of proof to a level below “beyond reasonable doubt”.
