- Phase out, as soon as possible, all extraction of petroleum, coal, and natural gas.
- Mining should only occur for or materials which serve a socially useful purpose, for which renewable alternatives are not available, and only after maximum recycling of available materials.
- Mining should not occur in areas of high ecological, landscape, cultural, and community value.
- Implement a royalties and tax regime that would at least be equal to the OECD average for Government take on mineralto ensure that New Zealand is getting fair compensation for the exploitation of our petroleum and mineral resources.
- Amend the relevant environmental management framework for offshore activities to ensure better protection of the marine environment beyond the 12-mile limit.
- Prohibit new exploration, prospecting, and mining on or under all public conservation land, regardless of the classification of the land.
