- Ring-fence contestable science funding to prioritise research and development into viable alternatives to 1080.
- Require the Department of Conservation to use all measures and resources at their disposal to minimise the by-kill of game animals and other non-target species during 1080 operations, including through the mandated use of effective deer repellents.
- Ensure the Game Animal Council (GAC) is empowered and resourced to achieve its statutory objectives and functions.
- Establish Herds of Special Interest under the direct management of the GAC.

- DOC’s core capacity should be improved by hiring and training more scientific and technical staff, field workers, rangers, educational officers, and locally based volunteer initiatives.
- Enhance the nationwide network of protected natural areas and fund DOC to establish new reserves to provide protection for areas representing all ecosystem types in Aotearoa New Zealand, from the mountain tops to the sea.
- Ensure that fresh water quality and flow levels are managed in a way that sustains indigenous species and ecosystems such as wetlands.
- Eradicate pest plants, animals and other organisms that threaten significant ecological values wherever possible, and to control them where eradication is not possible.
- Encourage and support high country farmers to work with DOC, whānau, hapū and iwi, and territorial authorities to improve the management and protection of indigenous biodiversity.

- Re-affirm our commitment to a Predator Free New Zealand by 2050, and fully resource efforts to keep us on track towards this goal.
- Begin work to establish two new National Parks – one on the Coromandel Peninsula and one in the Catlins, and build two new Great Walks.
- Provide $15 million to DoC for predator free ecological sanctuaries and breeding programmes.
- Recognise iwi have concerns and work with them to progress the Kermadec Ocean Sanctuary, while exploring options for the establishment of new marine reserves.
- Ensure New Zealanders are able to continue to enjoy access to recreational fishing, whitebaiting and hunting.
- Utilise expertise from the professional and recreational hunting community, including the Game Animal Council, in the control.
