WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 remained relatively flat today. Over the past week, the index has dropped -0.6%, while its monthly decline sits at -1%. Despite this, it maintains a +9% gain year-on-year.
THE MAIN GAINERS
There were 38 gainers in today’s market, led by Vista Group (VGL, #34) and Fletcher Building (FBU, #15), both rising +2%. Vista Group has gained +2% this month and an impressive +94% year-on-year. Fletcher Building, however, remains in negative territory, down -4% over the past six months and -34% for the year. a2 Milk (ATM, #10) and Vulcan Steel (VSL, #29) both posted +1% gains. Despite a sharp -19% drop over the last six months, a2 Milk is still up +24% for the year. Meanwhile, Vulcan Steel has declined -2% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
On the downside, 43 stocks ended in the red, with Heartland Group Holdings (HGH, #32) and Sky Network (SKT, #48) both falling -2%. Heartland has gained +8% over the past month but remains down -23% year-on-year. Sky Network also posted an +8% monthly gain and is flat year-on-year. Precinct Properties (PCT, #20) declined -1.5%, taking its yearly loss to -4%. Goodman Property Trust (GMT, #14) dropped -1%, extending its year-on-year decline to -7%.
