Here are the key changes to know about in the New Zealand equity market; NZX50 slips -0.3%. Gainers led by EBOS, a2Milk and Auckland Airport. But Infratil, Meridian, and SkyTV were the big decliners

Here are the key things you need to know about in the NZX markets over the past 24 hours. Changes are as at 3:00 pm and may change when the market closes at 4:45 pm.

WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 posted a minor decline of -0.3% today, extending its one-month drop to -2.4%. However, the index remains solidly in the green year-on-year, up +9%.

THE MAIN GAINERS
The market saw 45 gainers, led by EBOS Group (EBO, #7), which rose +3%. Over the past six months, EBOS has grown +5%, contributing to its modest year-on-year gain of +2%. a2 Milk (ATM, #10) and Auckland Airport (AIA, #3) both recorded +2% gains. Despite a -15% drop in the last six months, a2 Milk remains strong year-on-year with a +29% increase. Auckland Airport has gained +16% in the last six months and holds steady with a +2% annual gain. Precinct Properties (PCT, #20) followed with a +1% rise, though its share price remains down -2% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
On the decliners’ side, Infratil (IFT, #4) led the losses with a -4% drop. The company has fallen sharply by -12% over the past month but remains in positive territory year-on-year, up +3%. Meridian Energy (MEL, #2) and Sky Network Television (SKT, #48) both lost -2%. Meridian has gained +3% year-on-year, while Sky’s share price is up +7%. Tower (TWR, #42) also declined, down -1.5%. Despite today’s drop, Tower has seen a meteoric rise over the last year, with its share price soaring +105%.

Tourism Holdings will release its FY25 Interim Results for the 12 months ending 31 December 2024 on Tuesday, 25 February 2025. The company will host a webcast and teleconference at 12:00 pm NZST (10:00 am AEST) on the same day. Management will present the FY25 Interim Results during this session.
