WHAT THE NZX50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 fell -0.8% today but remains up +0.6% over the last five days. Over the past six months, the index has gained +9%, achieving a +10% increase year-on-year.
THE MAIN GAINERS
Among the 30 gainers in the market, a2 Milk (ATM, #10) led with a +2% rise today, gaining +3% over the last five days. Despite a -10% decline over the past six months, a2 Milk boasts a strong +45% gain year-on-year. Channel Infrastructure (CHI, #36) followed, up +1.6% today, adding +4% over the last five days and showing a solid +33% increase year-on-year. Oceania Healthcare (OCA, #39) and Stride Property Group (SPG, #35) both posted +1% gains. Oceania Healthcare fell -5% for the month but is up +4% year-on-year. Stride Property Group has declined -3% over the last month and is down -9% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
On the decliners' side, Fletcher Building (FBU, #15) experienced the steepest drop, down -4% today and -12% for the month, marking a sharp -40% decline year-on-year. Gentrack (GTK, #24) fell -3% but retains a remarkable +86% gain year-on-year. Chorus (CNU, #12) and Auckland International Airport (AIA, #3) both declined -2%. Chorus posted a strong +20% gain over the last six months and is up +15% year-on-year. Auckland Airport gained +8% over the last month but remains down -6% year-on-year.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mainfreight (MFT, #6) has reported a data security incident affecting a non-production system, compromising personal details of 75 individuals. Immediate steps were taken to secure the system, rebuild the affected server, and confirm the safety of their wider IT environment, which remains unaffected. External cybersecurity partners are assisting in the investigation, with additional data protection measures implemented. Affected individuals and relevant privacy authorities have been notified.
ANZ announced that CEO Shayne Elliott has decided to forfeit his long-term variable remuneration following shareholder feedback. While the resolution to grant the remuneration received majority support at the Annual General Meeting, a significant proportion of shareholders opposed it. Chairman Paul O’Sullivan stated this decision was made to acknowledge shareholder views and minimise its impact on the bank's operations.
