WHAT THE NZX50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 slipped -0.2% today, extending its monthly decline to -0.8%. Despite this short-term drop, the index remains up +14.2% compared to the same time last year.
THE MAIN GAINERS
A total of 39 companies are set to close higher today. Leading the gains was Gentrack (GTK, #28), which rose +2.1% for the day. Over the past five days, the company’s share price has surged +7.4%, with a substantial year-on-year increase of +100.4%. Freightways (FRW, #20) followed, gaining +1.7% today and up +33.6% year-on-year. Skellerup (SKL, #33) posted a gain of +1.6%, bringing its monthly rise to +4.9%. However, compared to the same time last year, Skellerup has a modest decline of -1.3%. Kiwi Property Group (KPG, #23) rounded out the top gainers, increasing +1.1% for the day and +15.1% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
The market saw 37 companies decline today, led by a2 Milk (ATM, #10), which dropped -2.9%, extending its five-day loss to -11.6%. Despite this, the company has gained +31.6% year-on-year. Stride Property Group (SPG, #35) followed with a decline of -2.2%, but remains up +3.1% over the past year. The Warehouse Group (WHS, #48) continued its downward trend, falling -1.9% and sustaining a significant annual loss of -44%. Tower Limited (TWR), the newest addition to the NZX50, closed down -1.5%.

NZME Limited (NZX: NZM, ASX: NZM) has issued a clarification regarding its FY24 guidance released on 11 November 2024. The original statement indicated that the fourth quarter had started positively, with expected advertising revenue growth of approximately 5% year-on-year for FY24. To clarify, the 5% growth refers specifically to the fourth quarter of FY24, not the entire fiscal year.
