Here are the key changes to know about in the New Zealand equity market; Contact & Oceania make gains, FBU recovers some, Kathmandu keeps falling

Here are the key things you need to know about in the NZX markets over the past 24 hours. Changes are as at 3:00 pm and may change when the market closes at 4:45 pm.

WHAT THE NZX50 IS DOING
The NZX50 is little changed down -0.2%. Over the last month the index has gained +0.8%, with a gain of +12.2% year-on-year.

THE MAIN GAINERS
There are a total of 34 gainers in the equity markets today, the biggest by Contact Energy (CEN, #8) up +1.5%. CEN has declined -1.3% over the last month, gaining +5.8% year-on-year. Oceania Healthcare (OCA, #39) has the next biggest gain up +1.3%, gaining +9.9% year-on-year. Fletcher Building (FBU, #17) also gained yet again, up +1.3%, this takes its decline for the full year down -31%. Vital Healthcare (VHP, #24) is up +1.1% but fall -10.3% over the last year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
There are 41 decliners today. Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #49) leads for a second day in a row falling -2.9%. KMD is now down -4.8% for the month, -39% year-on-year. Next is Spark (SPK, #9) declining -1.9% since yesterday. SPK has declined -12.8% over the month, down -36.4% year-on-year. Infratil (IFT, #4) is down -1.6% but gain +19.7% for the year. Followed by Vulcan Steel (VSL, #29) declining -1.2% for the day.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Summerset Group (SUM, #16) released its 3Q24 results ending on the 30th of September. SUM reported a total of 289 sales which was made up by 129 new sales, and 160 resales. Summerset's CEO commented "Total sales for Q3 were up 11 percent on the same time last year, with resales increasing 26 percent year-on-year." 

Move Group (MOV) announced that it signed an agreement in order to sell its vessel, "The Atlas Wind". The vessel is. set to sell for a US$1.1 million.

Mainfreight (MFT, #7) has just finished its investor day which was held in Texas. At the event it released an investor update presentation which covered 26 weeks of trading and is an estimate for the FH25 results which will be released on the 13th of November. The estimated revenue for the 26 weeks is set to be $2.55 billion which is an increase of +8.5% year-on-year. Delegat Limited Group (DGL) announced that its Managing Director, Steven Carden, will resign from the company effective on the 31st of January 2025. Carden mentions that after three years with the company, and the achievement of 'some significant milestones', he now wishes to explore other opportunities. While the company searches for a replacement, CFO Murray Annabell will cover for the role.
