Govt urged to create a big 'data sharing ecosystem', told big data and big privacy can go hand-in-hand

As banks, insurers and other corporates head down the big data highway the Government is being advised to establish an independent data council, appoint a champion to drive innovation and data sharing, and change laws to extend information sharing beyond central government.
