KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Spark (SPK, #14) has appointed Vince Hawksworth as Chair of the Spark Board, succeeding Justine Smyth following the board’s previously announced succession process. Hawksworth, who joined the board in October 2025 after more than 18 years in chief executive roles across regulated utilities and infrastructure businesses, will take over from Smyth following the board meeting on the 5th of November and lead Spark’s FY26 AGM on the 6th.

Tower (TWR, #41) has appointed Sophie Haslem as an independent director to its board, effective August the 20th, filling a casual vacancy. Haslem brings more than 25 years of commercial, finance and governance experience across New Zealand and Australia, with current directorships at nib New Zealand, CentrePort, Rangatira Investments, Payments NZ and Livestock Improvement Corporation. Tower said her experience in governance, transformation and technology would support its strategy of strengthening performance and building a more resilient, customer-focused business.

The board declared an unimputed final dividend of 13.5 cents per share, taking the full-year dividend to 26 cents, with Vector also announcing a dynamic 10kW solar export limit to help customers maximise rooftop solar generation.

Ryman Healthcare (RYM, #18) has welcomed the release of an independent Ministerial Advisory Group report on aged care funding and reform in New Zealand, which recommends near-term funding increases, a split-funding model for care, daily living and accommodation costs, evidence-based pricing and greater incentives for new aged care capacity. The report also proposes an integrated system spanning residential and in-home care, with the Government yet to confirm its policy response.

Downer EDI has secured more than $900 mln of water and power contract renewals and extensions across Australia and New Zealand, including a NZ$420 mln Watercare contract to maintain Auckland’s northern water and wastewater network for up to 10 years.
