Kathmandu Holdings Limited (KMD) is a Global outdoor, lifestyle, and sports company. KMD is a certified B-Corporation. KMD holds a trio of stores, Kathmandu, Rip Curl, and Oboz. Kathmandu was born in 1987 and holds a strong reputation as the best product distributor for camping, and plenty more outdoor activities.
CEO profile
Michael Daly was appointed CEO of Kathmandu in May of 2021. Joining Rip Curl in 2002, Daly fulfilled the roles of CFO and then COO before being appointed CEO of Rip Curl in January 2013. Whilst Daly was based for years in the Torquay head office, Daly then spent two years in the USA for Rip Curl. Prior to joining Rip Curl, Daly spent over 10 years working for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) across both Australia, and New Zealand.

David Kirk was appointed Chairman of Kathmandu Holdings Ltd. in November of 2013. Kirk is the Co-founder and managing partner of Bailador Investment Management and is the Chairman of Bailador Technology Investments, Forsyth Barr Group, and the New Zealand Rugby Players Association. Kirk is a Rhodes Scholar with degrees in Medicine from Otago University and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University.
