An Investment Opportunity For Successful Leaders

Zespri Red Kiwifruit 2022 market success, combined with rapid development in growing knowledge, and the perfect growing environment are ingredients in this Seeka managed orchard investment. Using a R19 financial model with conservative yield and OGR forecast, and generous opex inputs, suggests positive cashflow by the end of the 2024/25 season, and double digit net investment yield by 2025/26 season. The factors in this are;

  • grafting onto superbly healthy and established Bruno root and stump systems. This powerhouse below the graft point is producing canopy at an amazingly rapid rate. As canopy matures and crop load comes into play, the same root system grunt will support fruit size and marketable yield.
  • ideal soil type and health, plus well sheltered warm Kerikeri growing environment
  • Seeka control and management of the development, ensuring things happen always at the right time and to the best technique.
  • an ever developing knowledge of variety growing and storage technique to optimize profitability.
  • consumer appeal of both the taste and the appearance of Zespri Red. Strong appeal that translates into demand and price.

The detail;

13.5 total hectare

5 canopy hectare of R19 grafted to established Bruno

0.74 canopy hectare of male pollen production, under cover

3.5 hectare of sheltered and ready to plant bare land

Kerikeri Irrigation Company supply

Seeka management (optional)

With profit potential close to good G3 production, and at a significantly lower entry cost, this is an opportunity well worth investigating.

Information inclusive of production, income and cost modelling is available to parties following completion of a simple preapproval process. Details of which will be emailed upon request.

This is a KiwiStart location in the sunny Hawke’s Bay and there are options to potentially remove a portion of vines in order to build your dream home with a unique lifestyle.

This is a low altitude warm site and there is an excellent water-take consent for irrigation.

Our vendor says sell, so do not miss the opportunity to secure this green kiwifruit orchard which provides real opportunity including options to build a dwelling in this fantastic location. Regraft or redevelop. The choice is yours.

Stunning 117ha Coastal Finishing/Cropping Block

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to secure a 117ha (more or less) absolute waterfront, mostly mowable farm on the Kawhia Harbour. Farms of this quality don't come to the market often, for very good reason - they get under your skin and are hard to part with.

Extremely well set up for current use, grazing Dairy heifers and growing some of the best heifers I have seen! Reliable bore water pumped to each paddock, springs and streams are all fenced off as well as the boundary to the harbour.

Featuring a comfortable three-bedroom home and a recently renovated two-bedroom cottage, housing is well taken care of, and a large implement shed and barn to store feed and equipment. The pastures are clean with excellent fertiliser history.

Recreationally the farm offers fishing literally off your door step for fat flounder, mullet and white bait.

This would make an ideal stand-alone finishing farm, support block for Dairy or larger drystock, cropping, horticulture (with mature productive avocados and tamarillos on farm in the orchard).

For more information or to arrange a viewing outside of the advertised open days, contact Richard Thomson today.

Preferred settlement 1st November 2024.

Te Moana Forest – Passive Carbon Investment

West of Geraldine lies Te Moana Forest. The property is made up of a series of contiguous titles spanning 638.2ha with a net stocked area of 464.7ha with one smaller title located approx. 9kms west of the property.

Initially established in 1992, the block was planted throughout the 90s including Pinus Radiata and Douglas Fir stands. A second rotation of Pinus Radiata was arial seeded in 2022 aiming to achieve a stocking rate of 3,000SPH. The block has been professionally managed from establishment through to the harvest with both species in good condition and have good growth rates.

The forest is registered in the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) under the stock change accounting method, encompassing 389.6ha across the forest. With strong projected carbon flow projections of both species makes this an excellent carbon investment.

To add further scale to the investment, Te Moana can be bought in conjunction with Alpine Forest. Alpine Forest is a similar scale carbon investment situated south in Fuchsia Creek. The 496ha property has strong carbon flows. Combining the carbon profiles of both forests creates a passive carbon investment of much larger scale.

Cattle and Sheep Grazing

Located minutes away from Aotea harbour is this long-established 265 hectare (more or less) cattle and sheep grazing property.

The contour runs from river flats to the west to medium and steeper hills with some quality plateau soils as well. It is subdivided into 15 paddocks - post and batten. They have traditionally wintered 45-50 MA cows, with the quality calves being well sought after in the Te Kuiti weaner fairs. They also have wintered 1000-1200 sheep, being a mix of MA ewes and ewe hoggets. Of the 265 hectares, there is approximately 45-50 hectares of virgin bush.

The dwelling is an older three-bedroom double glazed home located on the flats. There is also a sleepout close by, along with a bike shed and chook shed.

Farm buildings consist of a hay shed and implement shed. Note there is no wool shed. Sheep and cattle yards on farm and loading race beside road front.

Water for the house is ex roof and the farm is natural supplied, but the farm has a river running through it so options there as well as several dams.

Motivated vendors - see you at the Open Days: 10.00am to 12noon, Wednesday 22nd and 29th May and 5th June.
